This will have to do for now

At some point (tomorrow), I'll make a different, more general blog that I will use for this class, but I just drove six hours from Vermont to New York, so it's not going to be tonight. In fact, I hardly made it home in time to write this at all.

For my capstone project, I would like to write a collection of short stories, most likely science fiction. I have been writing a lot of them recently, and I really enjoy it.

If that doesn't work well, I have had the skeleton of a book bouncing around in my head for a few years now, and I think it's about time I get it down on paper. The capstone project would be a good way to start this. I have written little bits and piece of things I'd like to include, but I haven't actually started anything. Is this alright, or must this project be done entirely in the semester?

Lastly, I'd like to work on my travel writing. I have stories and observations from spending a semester in Prague and traveling around Eastern Europe, and I'd like to write them down and make a collection at some point.

This is everything I've though of up to now, and I think any one would be an interesting project for my senior year.

  2. In answer to your #2, I think most people are probably going to start developing their ideas this semester and gathering material over the next few months so that when it comes time to start the capstone, in the beginning of the spring semester 2011, they'll be ready to roar into action.
Of these three options, the travel writing seems to be the most developed in your mind, and you also seem to have material waiting to move into action. In this case, I'd recommend starting to write sooner rather than later: travel writing is notoriously hard to recapture after you've been back home for several months!
